Behind the Scenes: Designing in Red for a Private Dinner

One of our favorite ways to connect with our community is by taking you behind the scenes of our design process. Each event we create florals for is unique, and every color palette tells its own story. Recently, we had the pleasure of designing for a private dinner, where the chosen palette was deep, dramatic reds.

The Inspiration

Red is a color that carries weight—it speaks of passion, strength, elegance, and depth. For this dinner, our goal was to lean into the richness of red while keeping the overall look modern and intentional. We wanted the florals to feel powerful yet refined, echoing the intimacy and sophistication of the evening.

The Process

Behind the scenes, the studio was alive with texture and tone. We carefully curated blooms that played beautifully together—velvety roses, sculptural amaranthus, and bold accents to give structure and movement. Layering shades from crimson to scarlet to deep wine created a tablescape that felt immersive, almost like stepping into a painting.

We designed each centerpiece to be sculptural and intentional, allowing negative space to highlight the richness of the blooms. The balance of height and shape ensured the arrangements were both visually striking and comfortable for conversation across the table.

The Final Touch

When the tablescape came together, the effect was dramatic yet welcoming—a vibrant story told through flowers. The red palette carried a sense of strength and warmth, setting the perfect tone for a memorable evening.
