From Market Selection to Installation: Our Design Process

Every floral composition begins long before the first stem is placed.

At Lavish Leaf, the process is deeply intentional from beginning to end — rooted in observation, sourcing, refinement, and the belief that florals should feel emotionally connected to the spaces they inhabit.

The earliest stages often begin quietly.

Researching the environment. Studying architecture and interiors. Understanding the client’s goals. Considering how people will move through the space and how the atmosphere should ultimately feel.

Only then does sourcing begin.

Flower markets are approached not simply as inventory selection, but as material curation. We search for movement, texture, tonal nuance, sculptural branches, and florals that align with the emotional direction of the project.

Sometimes inspiration comes from a singular stem.
A branch line.
A texture.
A restrained palette discovered unexpectedly.

Back at the atelier, preparation becomes equally important.

Flowers are conditioned carefully to maximize longevity and movement. Vessels are selected based on proportion and environment. Materials are tested together to study rhythm, balance, and visual tension.

The compositions themselves evolve organically throughout the design process. Some arrangements become more restrained. Others expand through layering and movement. We allow the materials to guide part of the conversation while maintaining strong creative direction.

Then comes installation.

This is where florals fully interact with architecture, lighting, furnishings, and atmosphere for the first time. Placement adjustments are often made in real time to ensure the compositions feel integrated naturally into the environment.

The final goal is never simply visual beauty alone.

It is emotional cohesion.

When the process is approached thoughtfully from sourcing through installation, the result feels less like flowers placed into a space and more like atmosphere unfolding within it.
