Introducing The Lavish Leaf Journal: Flowers, Art, Interiors & the Stories That Inspire Us

Something beautiful is unfolding.

We are delighted to introduce the inaugural issue of The Lavish Leaf Journal, an editorial publication created as an extension of Lavish Leaf Floral Design Studio.

For years, our work has been rooted in the belief that flowers are more than decoration. They have the ability to transform an environment, create atmosphere, tell a story, and influence the way a space is experienced.

The Journal gives us a new place to explore that idea.

Beyond the Flowers

Our approach to floral design has always been influenced by disciplines beyond floristry.

We look to interiors for proportion and scale. Architecture informs how we consider movement and space. Art inspires unexpected relationships between color, texture, shape, and form. Fashion encourages experimentation. Nature continually reminds us that beauty does not require perfect symmetry.

And then there are the places, people, meals, conversations, objects, and experiences that quietly influence the way we see.

The Lavish Leaf Journal brings those worlds together.

Through seasonal issues, we will explore flowers alongside art, interiors, design, hospitality, entertaining, culture, and place—sharing not only what we create, but some of what inspires the creative perspective behind it.

An Extension of the Lavish Leaf Studio

Based in Durham and designing throughout Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, and beyond, Lavish Leaf works across weddings and celebrations, corporate and hospitality environments, editorial projects, floral subscriptions, gifting, workshops, and creative collaborations.

While the environments may change, our philosophy remains consistent.

We consider the architecture of a room. The purpose of the gathering. The character of a brand. The season. The light. The people who will experience the flowers.

The result is floral design intended to feel connected to its surroundings rather than simply placed within them.

Flowers as atmosphere, not decoration.

The Journal allows us to take that philosophy beyond an arrangement or installation and explore the larger creative world surrounding our work.

The Inaugural Issue

Volume 01 · Spring / Summer marks the beginning.

Inside, you will find an exploration of the season through the lens of Lavish Leaf—filled with flowers, imagery, inspiration, design, and stories celebrating the beauty found in thoughtful details.

Rather than simply documenting our portfolio, we wanted the publication to feel like something to experience slowly.

Something to return to.

Something that might introduce you to an idea, inspire the way you see a familiar space, encourage you to bring flowers into your environment differently, or simply offer a beautiful moment in the middle of your day.

And this is only the beginning.

A New Chapter for Lavish Leaf

As the Journal grows, so will the stories we tell.

Future volumes will continue exploring the intersection of floral design with interiors, hospitality, art, entertaining, makers, destinations, creative voices, and the environments that shape how we live and gather.

There will always be flowers.

But there will also be the world around them.
