Community, Connection, and Creativity at Black August in the Park

We were honored to be part of Black August in the Park 2025 in Durham, NC this year, and what an unforgettable experience it was! From the moment we opened our flower bar, there was an energy that could only be described as vibrant, joyful, and full of community spirit.

A Blooming Success

Our DIY Flower Bar quickly became one of the most loved stops of the day. Guests were drawn in immediately, and before we knew it, a steady stream of people gathered to create their own bouquets. The excitement was contagious—laughter, creativity, and conversations flowed as hands reached for blooms and petals. Each arrangement was unique, a reflection of the individual who created it, and together they painted a picture of unity and celebration.

The Energy of the Day

What stood out most was the atmosphere. The park was alive with music, art, culture, and connection. Everywhere you looked, there was movement, beauty, and purpose. Being surrounded by so many people celebrating Black joy, history, and culture was deeply inspiring—and it made our role in the event feel even more meaningful.

Working with an Incredible Team

We also have to give special recognition to the Black August in the Park events team and SpiritHouse Inc. Collaborating with such a dynamic and passionate group of organizers made the experience seamless and impactful. Their dedication to creating a space where community could thrive was felt in every detail, and we’re grateful to have played a small part in their vision.

A Grateful Reflection

As a floral design studio, we always strive to tell stories through flowers, and at this event, the story was one of community, creativity, and connection. We left the park not only inspired but also reminded of the importance of spaces where people can gather, celebrate, and create together.
